Wearing a knee brace when your leg is swollen can be a good idea in some cases, but it depends on the cause of the swelling.
If the swelling is due to a minor injury, such as a sprain or mild inflammation like bursitis or tendonitis, a knee brace can be helpful. Some people believe a knee brace for fat legs is effective.
That's because a knee brace designed for fat legs typically has a broader and more adjustable design. It often comes with extra-long straps and a larger circumference to comfortably fit around the bulkier leg, which is suitable for those with swollen legs.

Compression knee braces, including those designed for individuals with larger thighs, can help reduce swelling by applying gentle pressure, which may encourage fluid to be reabsorbed into the body's circulation.
